Hmm, this is a tough one. I agree with Mario for sure. Sonic would have deserved a spot back in the 90s but not anymore. Lara Croft? No way. Master Chief? Maybe.

Actually, I have wondered about this. I had speculated the name was probably the main issue, and it seems I was mostly right. Biohazard sounds cooler but Resident Evil just...works.

Maybe sales dropped because almost everyone in Japan already owns one? I mean, wasn't in #1 in sales for a year or two?

Not really interested in this. I still have my GBA, GBA SP, and original DS, which I haven't played in years. I don't play handhelds enough to justify buying an upgrade.

I downloaded it last week, got all 4 achievements for it and left for the Capitol Wasteland again with only one freezing incident. Guess I lucked out.
