No Fiat 500e? I thought it was the king of this.

Not relevant at all but I remember it had a button to make the power steering 1970's Cadillac light, presumably for low speed city driving or off roading. I also remember hitting a few curbs with it, for science, and it felt great.

I definitely get it too, I drive a not particularly low car and yet it bottoms out and scrapes the ground frequently. Something like my mom’s Forester would be perfect except that it’s a bit TOO tall and only comes with a CVT. Impreza is the same platform but is even lower than my actual car and has low profile tires.

I drove a last generation manual one and it’s slow, like really, really slow but it’s awesome and feels like it could go over anything. If it were automatic then it would become incredibly slow and might not be as fun to drive except for city driving.

An idiot who works for my mom just overloaded the Frontier to the point that the rear leafs broke; he then proceeded to KEEP DRIVING IT in bad terrain until one of the shock absorbers punctured the gas tank. He then used it for a couple of more WEEKS until the brakes failed and finally took it to the shop saying it

So pretty much what they did was add dubs

Definitely, Honda has loads of 125 motorcycles in other markets from around $2k, I love the look but $3600 is pretty steep. They’ll still probably sell tons of them.

That does happen, but I think it’s mostly hyperbole (as in, you’re not “Living on the edge” because you managed to complete a road trip in one of those unreliable new Alfas or VWs.

I always buy the good parts, as such my cars are probably less unreliable (funreliable?) than the average car of their age but still compared with something modern it’s a world of difference.

Mine’s also an Alfa, but the GTV V6 from the 90's. A friend’s dad used to have a turbo V6 one and I remember lusting after it since the day he got it until the day it stopped running.

I often use my brother’s 97 and it’s unstoppable, haven’t yet found anything bad enough to even make it break a sweat. It’s a very heavy car so it’s slow, drinks loads of gas and can boil the brakes on steep downhill roads so it’s only used when we know we’ll need all it’s might and power and for that it never

They’re still unreliable, compared to modern cars at least.

Have to say that engine bay doesn’t look at all classy or elegant but the car sure does look fast.

What you need then is a Testarossa, with a driver, to always be in front of you whenever you’re driving.

That’s exactly the same build that came to my mind when I saw this, he’s not done yet, give him some time.

I’m gonna go with this one as the textbook example of an unavoidable accident.

I was taken home from the hospital, and then proceeded to spend a lot of my childhood in two of these (my mom had a dark green ‘78, my grandma a light green ‘79, both 1200 4 doors). Great cars, lasted in frequent use until the early 00's

This is usually not a problem in the US, but for very tight parking spaces shorter doors are better as they can open a bit more before hitting other cars.

For terrible rush hour traffic I’m starting to think that something like an electric Smart car or 500e (used obviously) actually make a lot of sense. Quiet, and under 50 probably pack more punch than either the GTI or the Abarth.
