Definitely, but if you don’t need to go off road I can’t think of a similar option.

On paper, a production econobox shell with a 1.6 liter engine would sound like they’re close to stock. They’re not, not at all unless you consider a $10,000 car with $500,000 in modifications “stock”.

I don’t get the hate, sure, I prefer a stickshift (almost) any day but between a CVT and a regular automatic I might even be inclined to go for the former for smoothness.

Don’t know, the one in my mom’s Forester works pretty well; better than pretty much any automatic I’ve driven and it’s coping with some 260 hp and AWD. They were developed for F1 after all...

In a few years the same arguments you’re now using against the manual gearbox will be used against the steering wheel; it’ll be interesting to see which side you’re on when that happens.

Correct, it’s really old fashioned to have a big lever taking up space right in the center console for something that:

Exactly my question, instead of so many gears in this case a CVT would just make more sense.

Actually, with drivetrain repairs and replacing the windows this would be an awesome way to get around in.

Apparently, these were the thing in the 60's.

If they were looking to build the fastest depreciating car in the world, I’m pretty sure they made it.

A truck? Hell why not a Limo?

I’m so tempted though, my current car was in a minor flood 6 years ago and it’s been fine so far. My current car is not a Maserati though... But at that price it could be?

Not even a VR6

Look at the Oldsmobile 98 up top.

After many decades of driving pretty much only manuals my mother also moved to a Forester, not a manual, but that thing can seriously move.

Probably some cold or something, or it might have been some other medicine that couldn't be mixed with booze. Night was fun, she drove my car pretty well, definitely recommend girls who drive manuals, have had much better luck with them.

There doesn’t appear to be anything else, but I’d still take a good look at the wiring first. Other than that I really like this model of Merc, particularly with the V12.

Yes, they’re easy to remove, but if he did that, what other “modifications” of the same kind of quality could the car be hiding?

Knowing what effect different stuff, scramblers or whatnot, has on the sensors could help reroute the car to where it can’t cause damage.

Depends on what you’re trying to do with it, maybe you just want it to blend in with traffic, drive into a tunnel or under a bridge and then have bombs inside the car explode or something.
