GM tried this a decade ago and didn’t have any success. Think they would see more then a single MPG gain after a decade of advancements to electric motors and batteries as well as techniques.

You read the chart incorrectly, the hybrid version is only 2mpg better.

I currently drive a 2016 Ram Crew Cab 4x4 with the 3.6 V6. I usually see between 21 and 24 mpg in my daily driving which is a lot of highway and flat Ohio. I’m more interested in real world gains. We know that the Ford EcoBoost motors aren’t hitting those numbers, so I image the e Torque system having more practical applications, especially given it lacks the weight disadvantages of a system with hundreds of pounds of batteries.
