California’s regulations apply only to cars sold in California and other states that voluntarily opt in.  

Regardless of size, a state shouldnt have the power to dictate Federal Law. The larger picture here is that California wants to shape the Country’s Laws to appease its residents.

I’m no trump supporter, but the auto tariffs are a good idea. Of course the “American” auto companies are opposed, they shipped all the jobs to Mexico and Canada. Let the foreign companies build factories here to avoid the tariff like many already have. This is a very good move for the economy.
