Hillary Clinton had Officer Pantaleo choke Eric Garner to death because he found the secret emails about Benghazi.

Yes, I know. You’re voting for Bernie. Clinton is the establishment candidate. She takes money from corporations. He’s a man of the people. #feelthebern #notvotingforhillary #goingtostatetheaboveeverytimehernameisevermentionedanywhere

PREACH.

I’m about to get out the tambourine

Yes, yes, and yes. Thank you! As a black person who well remembers the ‘90s, I remember honestly thinking that the 3 strikes law was a good thing and made sense when it came out. Nothing else seemed to be working. And I still can’t believe how little attention has been paid to Hillary’s “lip service” line, because

THANK YOU!!!

“I’d go gay for her” is the exact phenomenon this article was protesting!!! What is the issue!?!

Lesbians get used by bi-curious hipster chicks all damn day. The people who don’t get that clearly have not spent any time around the queer community.

Hey, maybe if your queerness is more about bashing lesbians than defending them when people are dehumanizing them, you should rethink some things.

Come off it. You know no one here is talking about women with legitimate ‘questioning their sexuality’ feelings. Madeleine and myself are talking about straight women. Are you seriously trying to say that women grappling with their sexuality routinely act like Katy Perry ‘I kissed a Girl?’ to score cool points? Like,

I know you know this, but if everyone is queer than no one is.

Yeah, I’m pretty much Team Madeline here. The posters who are so out!raged! about this article are the same ones who make a bunch of “I hate it when people think feminists are a bunch of dykes, like we’d ever be that zany and icky” comments on other articles.

I liked this post very much. Listen, tbh, the only people who’s opinions I want to hear about this posts opinion are queer ones. I’m serious. I see a lot of women in the comments talking about how this post is offensive and the reason bi women have a hard time coming out, etc.

I think it’s pretty obvious that I was talking about the people you mention in your first paragraph? I specifically wrote “straight” instead of “questioning” for a reason.

Ok, how about a black person who desires space apart from white people who insist they’re really black on the inside?

Certainly trans women’s trauma should be considered - but I don’t think it’s unfair for anyone who is a victim to want a safe space free from whatever it is that triggers them, including penises. Maybe this festival should not be that space, but to disregard cis women’s trauma as well doesn’t seem to be a great

I’m not sure that I understand the logic here. It’s certainly awful that trans women have been treated like this, and I’m sure it would be helpful for them to have a safe space too. But the issue of seeing a naked body that could potentially have male characteristics causing trauma to a cisgender assault victim

I feel kind of bittersweet about this. Not because I’ve ever been to Michfest, and not because I support their trans-exclusionary policies (which are terrible), but because I had always hoped it might evolve into something more inclusive.

Okay, hang on. This article seems disingenuous. Something happened 20 years ago, they readily admit it was wrong, and...they do not in fact exclude trans women. So....I’m sorry, I’m not seeing the beef.

The problem is that Chait is not making quasi-helpful general points about tumblr feminism or anything like that, at all. He is reacting in a personal way to two very specific things that took place recently. First he got beaten like a red-headed step-child by Ta-Nehisi Coates in an argument about racial prejudice
