Somewhere (in Portland, probably) there’s a machine that spits dudes like those guys out by the dozens. We must find this machine, lest we be flooded with inane conversations about small batch bourbon and banjo / mustache wax.

It’s weird how defensive and angry artists get when their knowingly provocative work actually, y’know, provokes people.
I don’t understand how the “more armed good guys” stance is even the slightest bit defensible given how many guns are in this country and how often these shootings happen. Are they just repeating a mantra at this point? All these public shootings, all these people loudly suggesting that more guns are the answer and so…
They’re also the easiest to pander to. It’s easier to prompt panicky idiots into action than it is to have a nuanced discussion that would lead to productive policy reform.
Then this shooting should make you extra mad, right?
I want to have a conversation with someone who’s taken in by the GOP’s penchant for tragedy wanking and corpse humping.
Well, it’s more honest that just straight up ignoring and marginalizing the “T”, which is what usually happens.
The shit thing about this? You’re not even using hyperbole. That’s literally what they’re saying.
In fairness to people who might view this through a lens of cynicism, the left has a habit of being all about minority causes when it’s a good PR move. Many of them were staunchly opposed to gay marriage until the popular tide turned for it. It’s one of those lesser of two evil things we get saddled with.
I think she sort of has to play the “man-up” card. I said this in a different thread, but I get the impression that the message of the GOP basically boils down to “There’s danger everywhere and only I can protect you.”
I’m no political scientician, but I get the impression that the GOP’s big message is “Bad stuff, everywhere. It’s coming for you, America, and only I can protect you from it”. Are the kinds of people taken in by that sort of messaging really going to look to a laaaaaady for protection? Aren’t they the ones that need…
I guess it’s a good thing that the president never has to answer hard questions.
They’re kinda the worst at times. They know just enough about institutionalized racism to pretend they’re above it all.
I’d be curious to know how gender is dealt with in households that create men who are less touchy regarding the importance of their gender. I can say that in my home, my mom was pretty conscious of not imposing too many gender roles on me. I was never told that a dress was only for girls or that girls couldn’t play…
Why is gender such a sore spot for manly men?
I’m increasingly starting to agree with this kind of thinking.
Probably Portland.
I like how his attempt to clean up his appearance just makes him look more like a sack of shit.
“OMG RACEBAITING!!” = “OW! MY WHITE FRAGILITY!”
