I really hope that’s what’s happening here. The internet age is ripe for this to escalate.

This is my possibly far fetched theory: is it possible that someone else is looking to come forward and name names, but confided in him to bring attention to it first as leverage? He’s well respected, has a clean media history himself, and it would make the announcement later come less out of left field.

No parent would intentionally make the wrong choice? I’m not so sure about that especially given the anecdote about Feldman up thread where his mother basically told him to suck it up.

corey feldman has been talking about this for years :(

“If you can imagine it, it’s probably happened.”

On the other hand, by putting this out there, anyone who is willing to name names knows that this guy will likely back them up, and it goes from there. I really hope this is the start of a conversation, not a single standalone statement.

He says that he wasn’t abused, though, so it’s hearsay. There are two possible scenarios here:

Yeah, but until you can cough up a name of a perp then there is going to be no Cosby-eque drive to end it. I get that Elijah doesn’t want to stick his head above the parapet and risk getting sued for naming names if nobody else backs him up, but someone has to. Just implying and hoping somebody else risks themselves

Elijah, this was an incredibly brave and selfless act. Thank you.

It’s from Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. That’s Brie Larson and Brandon Routh in white. Thomas Jane is the lead guy coming in dressed in black.

So much Vegan related drama in the news these days.

You know, having people strongly believe that they were abused isn’t an accusation against them or an indictment of their character so why would they care?

In previous interviews, Wood stated that his mom, or maybe both parents, kept him out of potentially dangerous situations. But he has worked with so many other child actors and likely has seen things. Also, his parents and people who managed his career had to know where, who, and what to protect him from.

That’s also what I think, it’s not fame or money that would mess up child artists this much, so it must be that those that are too much in “Hollywood” are exposed to predators.

I always think of the Harry Potter kids when I try to think of evidence for this. They grew up rich and famous but not really “in Hollywood” and as a result seem to have had only moderately troubled transitions to adulthood — eg, Dan Radcliffe struggled with alcoholism but is now sober, Emma dropped out of college but

I don’t know.... I don’t think it’s very fair to assume so much about someone’s past. I believe wood. I believe there's a lot of abuse that's been covered up, but I don’t think it’s respectful to assume that all these child stars with problems later in life were abused. I wouldn't want someone to assume I was abused,

I definitely agree with that as well. He said he didn’t get caught up in stuff because he had a strong family structure. If you don’t, I can see how that life will eat you up at a young age.

It’s really on the parents in Hollywood; many will do anything they are told to try and make their kid a star and have to be complicit.

I remember seeing a clip of a reality show where Corey Haim confronts Corey Feldman for knowing he was being abused as a child and Feldman said to Haim you knew I was being abused too.
