I was disappointed they didn't talk more about taxes!

This happened for me too, with Orange is the New Black. My dad has a thing about "gross food stuff" and when I recommended the show to my parents he said he had seen the pilot and he didn't want to watch it for that reason, and I said, "oh come on, there's not any gross food stuff." A day or two later I thought about

"I dont see how its that difficult to not put yourself in a position to get raped."

1. Yes, oxJane brings the crazy. 2. I don't know why someone would still have that band as one of their favorites either, but I am sure that people are going to latch onto that as proof that she's lying. She had it listed on FB, right? I couldn't tell you what my favorite bands listed on FB are. Anyway, I think that

THE OPPRESSIVE MATRIARCHY WINS AGAIN

lol

Rapists don't usually have "double lives." Maybe the few who wait in dark alleys for women with long hair (easier to grab, don't you know) do. More often they're normal guys, like you and your friends, and my friends, guys with girlfriends and wives who have been taught that passivity = consent or that they're

Libel suits don't actually usually go very far … we get clients all the time wanting to sue for libel, but it's not worth the cost of representation to go after your old boss for saying something unkind about you in an email. To get damages you have to show that the lie impacted your reputation, which is why Oberst

It's weird that because you're talking about your kids I assume you're a woman, even though I assume most comments generally are from men (way to establish a default, patriarchy!) Just an observation.

That's fair, but I read the comment thread and she wasn't trying to come forward with an accusation or anything. She just mentioned an experience she'd had and the other commenters asked her which musician she was talking about and she told them. I don't think that was really smart but it wasn't her intention to start

Me too, it really resonated. I definitely want to see it again.

I was always a little bothered by the mistreatment of Jerry until I read, in an AV Club review, I believe, something about how the character is the longest and perhaps best running joke on the show. Thinking of him that way alleviated a lot of the discomfort I feel with other characters abuse him.

I'm totally a switch, as are most of the people I date, but I don't go real heavy or anything, just some bondage/smacking around/dirty talk.

I have never seen Sherlock but I have an arbitrary grudge against it, probably because Stephen Moffat is messing with Doctor Who so badly.

Is she still around?

nicely stated.

Doctor Who for sure. I like the Buffy fandom on Tumblr though. Probably because a lot of us are no longer teenagers.

I love the fan-fiction theory.

Did you think it was worse than the trilogy in terms of deviating from canon?

Seriously. I'd love a Kitty storyline - preferably an adaptation of Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men. /predictable
