Don’t have polished tips at all then. This sucks.

That’s the first thought that came through my head. Like I certainly can wrap my head around them doing something this stupid. I can’t imagine them doing it THIS badly though.

God... not only are they stupid, but the holes they cut look like they’d come out of a low budget local exhaust shop that also happens to be the owner’s rent home.

Getting cited for doing 112 in a 50, then somehow (because your parents are insanely generous to ever let you drive again) getting another shot and managing to kill yourself doing 116 is absolutely stupid enough to merit the Darwin. Honorary Darwin Participant Ribbon goes to the parents who managed to retroactively

The average looking ones, however, were allowed to keep their jobs.

Are there other examples of a manufacturer removing a “safety feature”, that the owner specifically requested be installed, at the request of someone other than the owner?

But in the end Tesla won. Basically the jury said Irresponsible people with fast cars kill themselves or others (akin to people kill people in the gun example). One could argue if the kid’s name wasn’t on the car as an owner, why would the tech listen to him, or at least notify the owner first? But ultimately, the kid

well, they did modify the car from what the owner requested which resulted in a higher speed at time of crash. I suspect that if that corner could be taken at 85 but not 112 the % assigned to Tesla would be much higher. Since it couldn’t be proven it mattered they gave it a token amount of blame.

What ever happened to personal responsibility? The kid had a history of driving like a jack ass. That’s not Tesla’s fault. The kid would have drove that way regardless of what kind of car he was in. Same with firearm manufacturers, why sue them, because you don’t like guns? Why not file a suit against the alcohol

I think we’re limited to stories that can be put into a slideshow or a QOTD format.

While it would be good to know how it compares to other companies, I think you’re in the wrong place for investigative journalism...

I understand what you mean, “don’t let the payment dictate the price/financing” but the monthly payment is still important. You do need to know what you can afford to pay monthly and not exceed that. Just because it’s a great deal and financing is low doesn’t mean I can afford it and should buy it. The best way is

I also love how so many of you are going to disagree with a guy who literally does this for a living.....

Former car salesman here.

Does Lightfoot know that Uber and Lyft don't have vaccine mandates for drivers?

If there is room to be passed on the right, there is room to get out of the way of faster moving traffic before that happens. This is true regardless of how fast you’re driving, failing to yield the passing lane to faster traffic is objectively bad driving whether a human or a computer does it.

Do you have my $500 or not?

Looks like the Tesla responded about the same way as a human who was only paying half-attention. Panic, jerk to the side, recover, continue. Agree - it worked. And the driver is a bag of dicks for camping there in the first place.

“It may have been an overreaction” - it most certainly was an overreaction that any normal functioning driver would’ve handled better. I’m not even sure that I can call it not losing it completely impressive either, that seems to be luck that the over reaction didnt cause it to lose traction. It certainly had to know
