Yes. I can’t speak for GM or Ford, but in Ram? Yes. Coil spring vs leaf spring, ride quality, etc. You can’t make a truck that rides super nice unloaded and tows like the 3500 do. 80% is generally accepted if you are regularly towing.  Meaning, tow at max once or twice a year?  Cool.  Towing weekly?  Daily?  80% is where you should be.
