I think its really cute that you think enough cars are marked up to outweigh the discounts dealerships provide over what a manufacturer would.

I don’t think you actually understand the dealer model.  Or how allocation works, or how little say some dealers have in the cars they stock, especially at first on a release.  Or how dealers actually benefit you. 

How about keeping prices lower? You think you are gonna buy cars at or below invoice from the manufacturer? They are only competing against each other at that point, no intrabrand competition.  Look at Tesla, Apple, etc for example.  If you like being price gouged then sure.  I don’t.
