There have been a couple of articles I’ve read recently that feel like they would have been slideshows just a month or two ago but now were allowed to be just one simple-to-read story.

It’s...a conundrum.

I can’t believe we have to choose between a guy who will certainly spark a genocide, and a guy already actively supporting one.

I mean, I’m going to vote for Biden, because he’s still somehow the lesser evil, but the Dems really don’t help their “there are differences between the parties!” argument by (not so) slowly

In fairness, doing what feels good instead of thinking about the consequences is fun.

(“The blood is on your hands, Biden, we can see it all/And fuck no, I’m not votin’ for you in the fall/Undecided.”)

Yup.

yay! the comment I was waiting for, because my emotional education was based on romcoms and queer cinema and I tell you that it was the worst education ever and I had to re-educate myself with real life, non archetypes, seeing people as people and not everything as a final game with a final resilution. And of queer

Now playing

Someone please tell Kendrick to just bury Drake already, he needs to focus on his real rivals: twin V-tubers.

Anyone immune to the charms of Richard Kind are dead inside.

I guarantee no club has played Drop a Gem on Em or 10% diss or 75% of your list in two decades. I’d be surprised if Ether was played more than twice at a club since 2006.

Plenty of rappers work with mainstream pop artists.

I think Kendrick is a massively overrated MC, but yeah, I agree with that ranking. Drake is the pinnacle of the industry severing rap music from hip hop culture.

The smartest thing Kendrick Lamar has done is convince people he’s not a “pop-rap” artist (whatever that means) despite doing songs with Taylor Swift, the Lonely Island, Maroon 5, Dido, Mayer Hawthorne, and Sia.

I really didn’t think I’d ever think this but... has AV Club actually gotten markedly better, very quickly, since the sale? Like, actual music reviews and more interesting columns/articles? Kinda feels like, I don’t know, the people working there kind of give a shit, even if some of the writing makes me feel a million

I’m a big romcom fan, but I have a bit of a different perspective.

I would’ve been interested to hear a queer take in this conversation. With a few recent exceptions, rom coms are sort of all about drooling over heteronormativity.

Sadly, I think Brooklyn 99 is only on Peacock these days.

I haven’t been watching for a while. I keep wishing that the teachers would go on strike.

Agree with all of these assessments. Atlanta is the best I’ve seen in a while, altough Glover’s treatment of women characters could use much more development. I’ve nearly given up on tv anyway. I’ve even lost interest in Abbott Elementary.

Not to mention perennial favorites:  The Venture Brothers, Rick and Morty, Adventure Time, Brooklyn 99, Baskets, Brockmire, and Superstore.
