I don’t even think he’s trying to “appear” like a good father; I think he actually believes he is a good father because he’s not 100% absentee. His uncle unwittingly put the right number on it. Just showing up gets you $5 and a handshake, it’s not fatherhood.

Also parents are free to give their kids different nicknames. It is actually nicer because a nickname is something cute the other person calls you. My mom and dad have different nicknames for me, just like me and my husband came up with a different one for our daughter. No one has ever gotten offended.

crazy to come out with 2 different opinions. You do remember that she made a one sided decision to have a baby with a man she was not involved with anymore. Basically making him a dad without him deciding that he wanted to be a dad at that time in his life. Of course it is easy to say “be as involved as you want to

Totally agree! I also wonder if Issa - once she got some distance by going out of town and out of his orbit for a while- finally saw that Lawrence for all his growth was still the same old guy. Like still avoiding real responsibility and commitment. Sometimes a few days away and getting out of the love drunk makes you

This episode was necessary, but because I have always rooted for Lawrence to become the good man I think he can be, I don’t like how the writers went for the lowest common denominator and made him somewhat of a deadbeat. Yes, he WANTS to be there for his son, but he doesn’t know how to be there, but why? He obviously

I was feeling the same type of way watching this episode. His character should have been dropped 3 seasons ago. He’s been a selfish dude since day one. I don’t understand his fans. Out of all of the characters on this show, he has shown the least amount of growth. Great, he got a job and is applying himself. Does he

He did care about the negotiations because as Roman explained to Kendall, he was testing and watching them to see their mental and emotional state, and they failed, especially Logan. Now that he saw that Kendall is too dumb and naive, and Logan too sick and frail, the choice is Stewie/Sandi to run the company since

“Frank Oz’s the Blackcoat’s Daughter” would be very fun, but a very different movie, Dowd.

Well, I watched two new movies from this list and I’m done listening to you guys.

Going by the age of the comments here, The Blackcoat’s Daughter blurb has incorrectly listed Frank “Miss Piggy” Oz as the movie’s director for at least 3 months.

I feel like some intellectual horror fans and people dipping their toes into the genre have an understandably cautious, if not outright bad, attitude about films that lean into psychological dread only to twist in act 3. There’s often disappointment when the psychological turns supernatural. You see it in reactions to

Loved Lighthouse and Session 9 too!

I agree overall it was pretty slow. Also, while I appreciate trying to be accurate with the period dialogue, it was borderline incomprehensible at times. Still, (VERY MILD SPOILERS) the peek-a-boo scene and the Black Phillip reveal were both good enough for me to go with it.

I recently rewatched Child’s Play with my 14 year old horror film buff. He laughed all the way through it and I remembered what a pile of shit it is. I don’t get the love that film gets beyond pure campy irony.

I am a big baby when it comes to horror movies but I appreciate the really well made, less graphic ones. SPOILER I thought “The Witch” was beautifully shot, well-acted, but the baby pulping ruined it for me. FWIW I thought the pretty thing in the house was really good. Also “Mindhunter” reminds me of “Se7en” so that

It seems like the common denominator is that the lists that are about a specific streaming platform are done as a slide show, while the regular lists that aren’t promoting for a brand are not. When this one first posted, I was able to just manually type in the “28" up in the browser, but that ended quickly and now it

Carrie. The Ritual. Murder Party (also Saulnier’s Blue Ruin if you want to call that horror, which I do).

Just a quick glance at my Netflix app reveals a lot of absences on this list.

For anyone not on mobile:

I needed this annual reminder that there are great horror movies waiting to be played in my queue.
