Also: "Women are trained to prioritize men; men expect to be trusted. We trust men; men use that to shield bad behavior."

"The problem of manipulative men is well known to women, and that’s why it’s so easy to believe Cole."

I see you were not amused…

Well, that's a given. Keep in mind, we're talking low, low standards. Plus I was being flippant.

I generally find it's more effective to address accusations of hypocrisy towards the particular hypocrite. For one thing, it allows them to actually know about it. Rather than whatever random person happens to be reading the comments section as you're posting.

Four years seems fair. He's a nutjob by normal people standards, but by nutjob standards he was remarkably restrained. Demanded to be shown basement, saw basement was just a basement, immediately surrendered. Didn't hallucinate what he thought he was gonna see, didn't insist that there were rooms behind the walls,

To give them credit, there was no chance whatsoever that I wasn't going to read an article with that title. They're hacks, and that was a masterpiece of their craft.

It would replace Bad Vicar as my favorite thing ever.

That sounds like the most amazing Mitchell and Webb sketch in all possible universes.

Nope, just a bizarre insomniac rant I was horrified to discover when I came to.

Jane Austen is an outlier because she's greatest novelist to ever write in the English Language. A woman publishing a book is not such a rare event that it amounts to a bizarre statistical anomaly.

Ah, the old Declaration of Someone's Irrelevance. The pseudo-intellectual's answer to a Writ of Excommunication.

I'm sorry for the sneering tone I took with you. It was uncalled for.
I'm glad this is ending on a kinder note. Thank you for that.
You as well.

Fascinating. I just found out there are still colonies of mimes in Anchorage and Quebec. Their remnants seem to be moving ever further north. The Hyperborean Postulate is becoming increasingly difficult to doubt…

Thing is, I'm not actually sure that sociopathy is a meaningful concept at this point. It seems to just be a catchall term for someone who doesn't feel as much guilt as we think they should. Serial Killers' have psychoses well beyond sociopathy. You don't start making lamps out of people's skin just because you don't

Mmm. I think you'll find they can, at least a small one, if you'd be willing to google "ethnic cleansing in indochina".
I agree with everything else. The content at least. People getting mutilated by unexploded ordinance is bad. Don't know why that, out of all the world's horrors, would be the one threatening to crush

Nobody who watched Pat Robertson was ever gonna vote Democrat. But The baked goods thing is pretty impressive, actually.

Look, that whole post started as schtick and just kind of veered sharply darker when I started thinking about Scientology and realized I actually did find him loathsome. I don't actually take pleasure in the misfortunes of random celebrities. It probably would have clearer that I was kidding there if I hadn't followed

"If the show is cancelled, no news organization is going to report on why. They're just going to say it was done 'in protest' and leave it at that."

Um, or maybe we just have different scales of power we're talking about.
