Looks a bit like it’s pooping out a Z3 to me.

Former Z4 owner here and I agree with your post. There’s another problem with boosting these that I don’t see addressed anywhere... the rest of the drivetrain. The Z4 didn’t have enough room for the beefier clutch, gearbox and (IIRC) driveshaft of the M3 with the same engine, so it retained the stock Z4 pieces. It was

My personal favorite - 1986 Peugeot Proxima.

He’s going to have to take on the both of us. I spent 5 Canadian winters daily driving my soft-top Z4, including days pushing -30 and it was no problem at all. I never felt any cold radiating through the top itself, and the small cabin space ensured that it actually warmed up pretty much exactly as fast as the engine

My ‘08 Z4 did the window thing, and would put the top down too if you kept holding it. ‘12 X1 had framed windows and did the roll-down and would then do the moonroof if you keep holding. Current ‘17 Mustang does it too. If nothing else it’s definitely becoming a common feature.

2017 Mustangs have Sync3 which is widely regarded as being a massive improvement from previous systems (and also supports Apple and Android autos). Sync3 is a QNX-based implementation. Previous versions were the garbage Microsoft implementation that were universally panned. I also have a 2017 Mustang, and my friend

You can’t just post the box art without mentioning the commercial. Or more importantly the music from the commercial:

My current 2012 turbo’d BMW actually specifically recommends 89 on the gas cap. My older 2008 non turbo’d BMW called for 91. I actually found it interesting when I got the new one, especially with the turbo on it, that the AKI requirement went down. That said I stick to 91 because its the only way to get gas with

Going to have to give it to the 507 Coupe this time around, but that E9 is gorgeous too. Something about the 507 just makes my breath catch whenever I see one.

Former ‘Rollie XRS owner here. It is definitely an engine with character and I miss it to this day. The Corolla’s application of the 2ZZ-GE was it’s most anemic, and yet running it up to the 8200 redline never failed to feel awesome, even though you were still going pretty slow. Slow car fast, and all that jazz, I

It is the same engine. They all have the Yamaha head. Yamaha does tons of engine work for Toyota. The only variance is the aggressiveness of the tune.

Counterpoint: Buying a Dinan tune is not at all the same. On one hand you’re taking your 235i down to Jim-Bob’s Dyno Emporium where Jim-Bob swears he knows a “guy” who does BMWs and can cut you a deal on whatever ECU piggyback bits and bobs are required.

On that we can definitely agree!

I feel the need to debunk it every time I see it but if you just drop your lid you do not have to replace it. If it makes you feel better then by all means go for it. I used to feel the same way until Arai themselves came out and said directly that it’s just not a big deal.

I have a European car with factory xenon HID lights and have neither wipers nor even the sprayers. So “all” might be overstating a tad.

Lots of reasons. Maybe he’s moving - maybe to another country, or simply a place not amenable to wrenching like a high-rise. Maybe a divorce is in the works. Maybe he’s selling off to pay some bills. Maybe he had a kid. Maybe he just got tired of working on it and wants something with some stability.

When you keep your hands at 9 and 3 you have 180 degrees of steering (more or less) to both the left and the right. When your hands are at 10 and 2 you only get something like 140-150 each way. Hence why 9 and 3 is taught now, and is what I’ve been taught at more advanced level driver training as well (along with

That can’t be Doug - he’s not wearing shorts or sandals!

I think it's common in Euro cars, or was. My E85 Z4 has, what I think, are the worst cupholders ever. I would come to find out over in Germany, it didn't come with them at all. Hence I invested in some Ultimate Cupholders and slap the hand of anyone that tries to use the OEM nonsense. FWIW looks like he's also
