I prefer the fixed-head coupe to the convertible.

lol @ anyone who thinks it’s safer to drive smaller cars these days. I drive my Miata like a motorcycle.

“I have such better visibility in my SUV!”

Precisely. The arms race approach to automotive safety ends up with everybody losing.

Studies showed that parking your car upside down reduced the likelihood of your automobile from being stolen by nearly 98% this Christmas season.

I use Google Maps, and I get cop/speed trap locations on the map.  Of course, they are almost always false positives, but still...

Short answer is yes. I've done directions side by side between Waze and Google this year on a few trips and gotten different routes many times.

BMW also announced that owners of affected vehicles will be charged a $60/yr fee in order to not be able to use 3G on them.

I thought my 2016 Charger with its 3G was obsolete but seems like it is more common than I thought. But at least next year I won’t get ads in my infotainment to get me to upgrade to 4G.

I’m so glad that I don’t own a connected car.

It’s the rare case where the company has been playing catch-up.

A job where some people would literally do it for free given the chance will always screw over their staff, as they know full well 10 people are lined up to take their place.

There is DEFINITELY an attitude that it’s a privilege to have that job and that you should be willing to work very long hours for less money than traditional jobs as a result.

I know, I thought this was going to some big expose or something.  And it read like a list of complaints about any job that requires a lot of travel.

Is this any different from working at Tesla, Facebook, Google, Amazon, etc were your life is supposed to be your job?

It does on some level though. A lot of the complaints are about things like days on the road; which are critical for the job and they knew about before taking it. It’s like a sailor complaining about being on a boat all the time.

You should also think about the flag people. 90 degree under the sun, from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM (because supporting races), standing in one spot, getting a bad sandwich at noon... From Thursday to Sunday (you get up at 5:00 AM to get to the track then get home at 7:00 PM), wife although not telling me to stop (hey, you

Yeah, and until qualified people stop filling the positions (or the unionize), not much is going to change.

Trackside is a tough job, it’s a young man’s game. There is DEFINITELY an attitude that it’s a privilege to have that job and that you should be willing to work very long hours for less money than traditional jobs as a result. To be fair, they’re up front about it and you do know what you’re getting into.

Unfortunately the pics in the article make it very hard to tell how the car actual looks.. y’know, from the side, from the rear, etc...
