The 2020 Tacoma I bought a couple weeks ago had those stupid Raptor-style grille lights installed. They were the second thing I deleted from the truck after I got it home because they look stupid.

Having over-the-air paid software upgrades allows the consumer to have a choice to get something later that was not available at the time of purchase such as enhanced cruise control. That is an actual benefit.

I work with a lot of manufacturers and a good bit of their buildings once had rail lines directly to them. I rarely see any active lines anymore other than car manufacturers.

I can’t wait to see how people get around this.  I plan on being one of them someday.  I will gladly brew my own controller to usurp paying any fees.  A simple microcontroller and SSR would keep my butt warm.  Less than $50 worht of stuff plus time.
