1st Gear: The US Army in Iraq found it was far cheaper to pay off the warlords than to fight them.

I think the gist is that FCA bribed the union into pressing for rules that would put GM in a more costly situation than FCA because of the mix of workers at each company. And conversely, not press for rules that would cost FCA more.

It always seemed silly that they drive their non street legal rally cars between stages on public roads. The local police are notified and some don’t like it. And some professional race car drivers are entitled dicks. Who knew?

I have several ICE cars but no EV. I like Teslas and think they are hugely innovative. I think Elon is an arrogant prick who is right about a lot of stuff. I have no opinion of Grimes.

In space, no one can hear whale song.

I just want brightness braking. Change the intensity of the brake lights based on the deceleration rate. This could also be accomplished with flashing frequency.

1st Gear - Don’t believe anything from a source with something to gain or lose. This can be a CEO who is trying to influence a union, public opinion, and shareholders or it may be a union boss who is posturing for the next negotiation. Examine the facts and consider that the world is not static. EVs will be easier to

Tost is correct. An F1 mechanic job is the pinnacle for the industry. They are very well paid and coddled with benefits. In return, they put in a huge effort during race season to help the team succeed. This is no different from an engineer working at SpaceX, a doctor in residence, a law firm junior partner, or a Wall

Much of that black grill space is not even open. The bottom part is the bumper. The imposing grill is pure styling just like the Ford and Chevy.

Southwest has been struggling for months with a very thin workforce and their employees are stressed from so much overtime. Then they drop a vaccine mandate and it rubs some pilots the wrong way. It doesn’t take too many well-placed sick calls to cause a cascade failure. Was it a planned conspiracy? Who knows? Was it

In the TV show Lost, there was a mysterious bunker with a countdown timer and a button that had to be pressed frequently to prevent the island’s destruction. I think we need something like that in Level 2 automated vehicles.

I was thinking that taking this to South Florida for a quick sale might be a good option but then I realized that 30 cars just like this become available every day in South Florida.

I too have experience with both vehicles going back over 40 years. Corvairs are better in almost every measurable way, especially performance, space, and capacity. VW build quality was more consistent but the vast majority of the 1.8 million Corvairs were screwed together pretty well. The beleaguered early models are

GM, the people who built a better Beetle (Corvair) and then managed to have it become a laughingstock while the Bug became an icon.

With the Ford Lightning we get a huge frunk with AC and a drain, independent rear suspension, 300 miles range, and 4 second 0-60.

I hope that employers install chargers that collect payment and then use that money to install more chargers. The free charger BS screws up all the incentives and needs to stop.

1st Gear: I am trying to imagine the context where the N word would be used in a factory that was really really busy trying to learn to make cars. Who has the time to put up with that kind of crap? Where in modern society outside of Southern biker bars is the N word used prevalently?
Were there dozens of die-hard

Finally a car company who gets it. I hope the Maverick hybrid is our new Model T.

Can I get that interior in a real car?

Here is a factor to consider about ground effects cars. They often have a window of speed where you cannot take a corner because there is not enough mechanical grip and you are not going fast enough for the ground effects to generate big downforce. This makes it very hard to work your way up to the car’s limits. You
