Yeah, well that is not going to happen. If Biden wins the presidency the voters will show up in droves to vote R for the Senators to prevent the full takeover by the Ds.

A bicameral legislature is designed to ensure that policies are popular with a large number of people (the House) in a large number of places (the Senate). Remember we are a Republic, not a democracy. The Senate is undemocratic by design.

David is a modern media genius who is manipulating us for clicks and comments. First, he buys $500 Michigan crapwagons (holy grail!). Then he blogs about his neighbors not appreciating his yard full of crapwagons. (the outrage!) And finally he blogs about how dangerous it is to drive a crapwagon. (scary!) I think

I drive one of my 45+ year old cars on vacations because the trip is the adventure. I’ve discovered that you meet the nicest people on the side of the road.

Increasingly, Europeans are placing restrictions on polluting vehicles in their cities. We couldn’t drive our old Triumphs into Paris back in 2017 but we did drive them into Amsterdam, London, Milan, and Cologne.

I think it ends at Jubilee Clips and Hardy-Spicer Unions. And spanners. My God, think of the children!

Yes, each state should have to stay with rules in place as of Sept. 1 or the beginning of early voting, whichever is first.

Not fair to Jews and Seventh Day Aventists.

Trump was never “churchy”, well except for photo-ops.

Well you can’t get your ballot back so it really wouldn’t matter if they counted it when turned in.

And some state courts are ruling that extensions are warranted even if longstanding state law is clear that the cut off for receipt of ballots is election day. But we agree that it’s a shitshow.

Who anointed you American English Car Nomenclature Police?

Very rare color, Bordello Red.

Yes but... Renewable energy companies are experiencing great returns. Had Exxon diversified away from oil their shareholders would have a better outcome, and so would those employees. This is just bad management and the creative destruction of the market. Bad companies are replaced by better companies and hire new

I am fine with stopping for 20 minutes to charge in the middle of the trip. My problem is the return trip. If there is no convenient charger at my destination then I have to make another charge stop before I get there so I have some range to drive around and start the return trip.

“Ok, grandpa.” Ouch. At least you didn’t call me a Boomer.
(I’m neither BTW)

You are a link in the ownership chain. Someone had to buy that car new in order to pass it along. It just seems to me that taking delivery of a new car every 4 months is silly, wasteful, and downright time consuming. And by accelerating the ownership chain that will result in more manufacturing.

Every car that is manufactured pushes the other cars down the ownership chain so you could make the argument that an old gross polluter is scrapped. Nonetheless, a new vehicle was manufactured and that contributes huge amounts of carbon if you consider the raw material mining and transportation, the energy to

With cars, there is a crossover between the pollution levels and fuel consumption of an older vehicle vs. the carbon footprint to manufacturer and deliver a new vehicle. I expect that any car under 10 years old in good condition that gets 25mpg or better is a net plus for the environment vs. scrap and buy a new one.

This type of program promotes a rampart consumer consumption mindset. If we want to save the planet, we have to start thinking about quality and utility. Buy something good, keep it and use it as long as you can. Then replace it. Isn’t a 12 month old car still effectively new? You can’t even get all the infotainment
