Reading an article like this reinforces that we Americans often live in different worlds with totally different skill sets. The very idea that you couldn’t rig a light screen, plug in a timer or a smart switch, or even haul 1 cubic meter of stuff to your home is so foreign to me. Then again, so is the idea of living

I own a ‘64 Corvair Coupe and I race cars. When properly configured (tire pressures, alignment, tires, steering), the Corvair handles almost as well as my ‘76 2002 and better than my ‘64 Austin Healey. There was something wrong with the one you drove.

Jalopnik is one of those precious things that everybody loves but no one makes any money from. Going back 3 owners they have struggled to monetize the mayhem. The writers have some fun, hone their craft, and leave for real jobs. I’ve worked for a lot of startups just like it. Hell, I created a startup just like it!

The swifts are a family, Apodidae, of highly aerial birds. They are superficially similar to swallows, but are not closely related to any passerine species.
