Or perhaps they liked it up until the ending, which is a common criticism for King's novels or for any magical mystery (e.g. Lost). 'Under the Dome' was the first Stephen King novel I'd ever read and I loved it. His mélange of comedy, horror and an over-the-top concept was a revelation. I flew through the thousand-page tome and by the time I was done, I was a fan.
