Honestly, the problem with the viaduct was always the on/off ramps out of downtown (and the fact that it was downright scary to drive on). I drove it for years on weekends/late nights, and it was always super easy to go from Queen Anne/Magnolia to West Seattle. It was only rush hour and commuters that suffered. As

Traffic in SF = Garbage. I lived in SV and basically chose to never, ever, ever drive to Marin because, omg, what a freaking nightmare going through the city.

Please write in the voice of idle rich longing all the times!

Patent nerd talk: patents expire 20 years from filing. Since 1995. Before 1995... well, it’s complicated.

I can’t believe I’m defending Trump here, but I don’t understand the uproar over this. He’s a businessman, not an economist. He was probably barking up the wrong tree in looking for the info, but there’s not really any reason to think he should know all the economic impacts of strong vs. weak dollar.

You’re going to hate this, but not warning pedestrians is actually a tactic a lot of cyclists use. The problem is that if you yell at a pedestrian “on your left” or whatever, they move erratically one way or the other. 1/2 the time to the left, so that they are now right in front of you. Better to not warn them

God gave you lungs for a reason. Ringing bells is just annoying, they don’t work as well as everyone thinks they should. They just don’t. It’s the equivalent on honking instead of using your turn signals. If you honked every time you changed lanes, it would be mass chaos.

I bought a 2.5 year old 2011 335i sedan with sport package and nav off lease and still under warranty for $24,000. Not sure if similar deals can still be had, but 300HP > 180HP all day.

Also, from the article entitled: “DO SAILING VESSELS ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY OVER WASHINGTON STATE FERRIES?” by the Director Vessel Traffic Service Puget Sound, U. S. Coast Guard Sector Puget Sound.

Having spent years racing yachts in Puget Sound (where this occurred), I can assure you that all the sensible folks stay the eff away from the ferries. And the cargo ships/tankers/barges. Right of way, shmright of way. I like not dying of hypothermia when my boat gets crushed like a fly and I’m tossed in the drink.

Correction: electricity, indeed, is not magic. Magnetism, on the other hand, can only be explained as the work of the devil. Ask your neighborhood theoretical physicist why magnetic monopoles don’t exist, and watch his head explode.

Screw that. I wanna be the guy who send OUT the message saying “wanna fly jets and drive Bentleys.”

I assume you mean I’ve benefited because I’m white and male, and I’ll own that I got harassed by the police less than others I knew growing up, but I haven’t benefited that I know of by the dismantling of unions and various other worker protections. The downward wage pressure caused by dismantling of unions (in my

As a white, male, 1%er (well, 2%er really), I thought this essay was great. And horrifically true. Things are obviously broken when view from my perspective too, but I’m far too young to have broken the system that began to be dismantled before I was in diapers.

I’m a cyclist (as in bicycles), so I’m usually going quite a bit slower than a motorcycle. But we have similar visibility and vulnerability issues. I’ve gone down hard enough to require a new helmet probably half a dozen times for various reasons (twice my fault: I race too). Cyclists that don’t wear helmets are

I went to a large public mainstream urban high school. My English class one year read nothing but women and POC... for an entire year. In 1995. Kids these days are hilariously and undeservedly self-congratulatory for nothing. Is there, like, some merit badge for not reading white men I wasn’t aware of? If so, I want

Ha, high school parking lot. Best views in Boulder!
