I work in construction, and in the past I’ve had to work 10 day shifts, 15-16 hours per day... ya. So I get that crunch sucks, but why is it such a big deal in the games industry while in other industries it’s a necessary evil that isn’t really scrutinized? Like, 10 hour days, 6 days a week, and only during certain

Great read! I’m disappointed that there was no mention of the pre-rendered backgrounds though, which to this day are still “mindblowing”. Those environments + that soundtrack :,)

Obligatory quest 64 comment. Fricken loved that awful game.

If you ever seek help from the thieves’ guild and get rescued by The Poofarts, you’re welcome.

Man, that sucks that you hated all those things... I don’t really understand the criticism toward the opening hours or the weapon degradation system, I loved them both.

Wow, that is a horrible name...

What about wii U? Can you have multiple profiles on a wii U? If not, my gf is going to be denied the chance to start her own game...

Once after failing to beat the battle square in FFVII (playing on a launch ps3) I tossed my controller onto the couch seat next to me. It bounced and it’s trajectory landed it directly into a small tub of water I had been soaking my feet in. RIP dualshock 3. had to use my shitty sixaxis for a while after that incident.

So, is the GBA version the best one to play then?

You can actually collect insight via madman’s knowledge before the first boss and thus level up. I think I had to look that up on my first playthrough.

The more I learn about the switch the more I hate it. As a Nintendo fan I was initially pumped about a home/handheld hybrid. After their embarrassing presentation last week and a slow trickle of disappointing info how can any of us still be excited for this? I hope it goes on to become a great console, but I feel

I was really let down by this presentation. I was hoping this would be one for the hardcore Nintendo fans, but I ended up just feeling embarrassed through most of it. The so called casual demographic isn’t interested anymore, nintendo. It just doesn’t seem like they’ve learned from past mistakes. Sad face.

Excavation minigame at bone valley! Nets you the key if done right, and I believe there’s a bug where you can actually see Aeris if you stop back in at the church? Closest you’ll get to bringing her back though.

Holy, spoilers much?

Maybe Nintendo will use this opportunity to finally explain the mystery of birdo’s gender!

Sexism is a serious issue in many people’s lives, and there are many cases where entertainment media seems to promote sexism attitudes. This is not one of those instances. This is a game’s CODE for fuck sake. Sure, if this game was meant to be a relationship sim, or any story in which romance plays a prominent role,

As a casual fan of the anime I’m excited to see how this turns out. The controversy over the casting is a little silly in my opinion- as long as the acting is quality then race is irrelevant. But I’m skeptical about the philosophical tone of the anime translating into a Hollywood action movie.

Thanks for the great article. I too have many people in my life who look down on games and people who play them. Ironically, these people almost always spend more time in front of their TVs than I do, watching garbage shows. I try to lead a more productive personal life than them and consider that my petty revenge

Annnnd fired.

If trico’s AI is intentionally frustrating, I’m all the more excited for this. I guess the intention might be for your interactions to mimic those of raising and bonding with a real life creature, hardships and all, and I’m confident this is the studio that could pull that off.
