If I may ask, what exactly is fanboy scream worthy about any of the major points of fanservice you mentioned? Nearest I can tell, it’s all stuff every single piece of Star Wars media has been happy to dig out’ve mothballs any time they need a reference to the original film since the 80s.  These aren’t particularly

You go into fan spaces that believe in this nonsense, they claim Snyder has been working on the movie in secret for the last two years, editing it into the final product he always envisioned, using his private funds to construct all the unfinished special effects from scratch without any outside help.

One need only recall how Marilyn Monroe was treated for trying to go method, and how the response from frustrated collaborators coupled with lack of help for her various debilitating medical conditions only worsened her life.  This at a time when Brando was being hailed as one of the all-time greats for doing the

Imagine thinking it’s remotely undignified for the man who played Darkman and was scheduled to play Mysterio to be considered a good candidate to play Plastic Man

I wish I could take recommends away from others so better content like this would rise to the top.

Oh God, oh fuck, they did a less badass take on a comic book character in an adaptation, I can’t handle it, Jesus help me.

Hey now, my dad’s been waiting for this movie for decades.

I’m going to take the stance that The Matrix is an even worse film if you view it through a trans lens, because you have a character lacking any sort of personality or agency who gets shuffled around by an “enlightened” group of outsiders whose entire philosophy is predicated on tearing down the system and anyone

Methinks “Look everyone it’s pretty digital Princess Leia hanging out with all her other digital princess friends!” might not play too well less than two years out from a certain someone’s death.

Tying Joker’s origin to the death of Batman’s parents is one of the worst parts of Burton’s Batman, yeah.

More like eight episodes.  They bumped it up to ten in the second season, and you could feel them straining to find ways to fill the time.

So uh

“To challenge them is to court death”

Yeah, Spider-Man is for everyone, so we’re gonna have our bad guys graphically slaughter a bunch of the more child-friendly versions of the character for shock value.  Give me a break, this series was nothing but trash.

Oh, but don’t you go saying that on the DC_Cinematic subreddit! It’s apparently all but official policy that if you deny the Snyder cut exists, they’ll out and out ban you.

They plugged this up an hour before midnight eastern time, so for a while I was just sitting there thinking, “Yeah I’m not surprised that the mod team who’ve given spammers and shitposters free reign in the past have decided to give the sub over to the WHERE’S HAWKGUY people.”

EDIT: Wrong post. Scrolled down too far. Fuck you kinja.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m fully down for exploration of darker themes, especially suicide. Felt massively let down when Dawn of the Dead chickened out of an impactful ending at the very last moment. But the way Rick and Morty explored those themes and topics was just... way too close to my own experiences to reasonably
