I'm still holding out hope. There was supposed to be a time jump between seasons 2 and 3 anyways so it could still work with all of the actors being older, IMO.

I absolutely loved this show and was so sad when it was cancelled. With all the TV revivals that are happening these days I would love it if HBO gave Carnivàle another chance.

It just seems like such a waste of a great moment. Instead of using it to cap off all of the tension of this episode and leave things on a crazy cliffhanger, they are just going to waste it at the beginning of the premiere.

It definitely looks like they are setting things up for it. Once Rick grabbed that axe I thought it would happen in this episode for sure.

He is. I genuinely felt embarrassed for Robert Kirkman when reading that character's dialogue.

Yeah, his backstory was ok but sadly that was more interesting than anything he has done since.

He is. I don't think anyone was that excited about him showing up. Maybe excited about the actor but the character is pretty similar, IMO.

I agree that it was cheap, but on the other hand isn't the whole point of almost any TV show to emotionally manipulate the audience to boost ratings? I mean even the local news does it…

Whoever wins, we lose.

Basically any time the show has to take a break from crazy non-stop action set pieces and make people talk to one another the weaknesses start to show. They need to hire some writers that specialize in good dialogue. I don't think any other show does long stretches of silence as well as The Walking Dead, but when

I think the church tower was fine when the wall was built. It only got that way when the giant truck crashed into it and caught on fire.

In fairness Frank Darabont pretty much botched her character beyond repair during the first two seasons.

And Judith.

I think he will lose it. They can just use a bandage or eyepatch to avoid expensive makeup effects/CGI unlike with Rick's hand.

But they haven't really done anything to set her up as a love interest for Rick. If anything I think they are setting her up to replace the woman Abraham cheats on Rosita with.

Yeah I think you are right about Ron shooting Carl's eye out. I'm really hoping Jessie has the same fate as in the comics next episode. I really like her character but that was one of the more memorable deaths for me so I hope they keep it.

Or at least since a few episodes ago when bo staff guy ran directly at a walker and then turned his back to it because the plot required him to be bitten.

That seems like the sort of awkward, tone-deaf thing he would do. I'm not sure how I missed that episode but I'm kind of relieved because it sounds really uncomfortable…

Yep. Bride Wars too.

I can't tell if the first part is a joke or not but I think the music changes to a love theme when she talks as if she is the love interest in this "episode" since they are parodying a TV show.
