For personal use, that argument is very debatable. At best, it's a civil case, and, as long as it is in fact for personal use, that means you shouldn't have a problem. The takeaway though is that it is not even remotely as black and white as 'removing DRM is illegal'.

Try evernote's "clearly" add on for your browser. It was really a gamechanger for me.
If my phone gets swiped, they still have to know my passwords. My phone isn't the "master key", they still need both things. I can also wipe my phone remotely as soon as I lose it to avoid this problem.
