Yep, I hate that Netflix’s focus has become new content, because a colossal majority of that content is garbage.

The problem has less to do with Netflix than it does with how messed up our copyright laws are. I’m going to bet that the movies are still protected by copyright despite being long past when they should be. This means that Netflix has pay to stream them and if number of people who stream them is below that value - why

Your issue is with copyright being unreasonably long, not with streaming services. Any reasonably person should agree that movies from the 30's should be public domain by now.
