The Huge Materia arc in FF7 doesn’t really hold up and is probably my least favorite segment of the original game, with very specific exceptions (Cloud’s past). Where disc 1 was an edge of your seat riveting chase for Sephiroth and the truth, Disc 2 after meteor’s summoning was kinda bloated.
You’re doing yourself a disservice, the first game will only get more dated the longer you wait, and fatigue might set in playing the games back to back, making the third game less enjoyable by that point as well. If you had no prior knowledge of FF7, Remake wouldn’t feel like a partial game, it would feel like the…
At least it’s not a slideshow
This is maybe one of the top five worst takes ever posted on Kotaku.
Personally I would talk to people in Italy if I wanted to ask real Italians, but maybe that’s just me.
the other two versions (sequels) of XIII? XV is also in the running.
Yeah, you really don’t need to explain that to us. The fact that she’s not from this world is explained pretty clearly in the trailer, and it’s also one of the most common tropes in genre fiction.
I think it just comes off as trying too hard to be hip. Like the dialog feels really at odds with the gameplay footage, to the point that it almost feels like a parody dub.
It’s dorky. It’s just dorky. It’s the kind of advertisement you’d see for some made-for-TV Disney movie from 20 years ago or something. It’s not a war crime or anything. That is all.
It’s the atrocious quippy Marvelesque writing that has permeated pop culture, showcased in this trailer,
To me, the tone is just very off/odd. It sounds sort of like a kid’s show or something. Very quippy, cheesy, etc. It feels very cliché, kinda “wacky”.
*record scratch*
As someone who still hasn’t played Part I or II, I’m 100% looking forward to this.
It’s another togepi
“Gary was here! Ash is a loser!”
So he’s not religious or spiritual but he believes in God and regularly attends church, and he’s not homophobic but he’s turning a blind eye to homophobia because he likes his church and his pastor and homophobia doesn’t really affect him. Got it.
Appreciate this. It looks okay, but I just can’t really get into Final Fantasy since they went the Unreal Engine (or whatever it is) route. It’s lost all its character (from an aesthetic viewpoint). This game may as well be any generic JRPG with Final Fantasy assets now. May very well end up turning out okay (or even…
Anybody closely following this like it’s entertainment is a shitty person.
Pretty sure it’s a copy machine. Hence the quip about “paper for your achievements”.
