Exactly. He has no idea about the cosmology of the universe that birthed Westworld. The co-inventor and driving force of the park was a black man, the chairman of the board is a black woman, etc. His expectation is for a story that touches on wholly human themes to capitulate to a myopic racial one is telling.

The assumption that Shogun World is designed to appeal to rich white westerners is extremely ethnocentric and racist on it’s own. Shogun World may very likely be designed to appeal to rich Japanese clients in the same way Westworld was designed to appeal to a North American audience.

Wait, what? So a depiction/re-creation of the “Wild West” just because it has its roots in America means it’s not foreign? Your definition of foreign is decidedly narrow.

Why do y’all have to think so hard about this shit?

So, filling the park with humans to kill and rape in OG Westworld is fine but those ethnically same people killing and raping in Shogun world would be racist?

This seems like a stretch, man. Westworld (the park) is a caricature of the wild west, complete with heroic cowboys (no), ruthless outlaws (old trope), and savage Indians (racist old trope). But that’s the point: this whole establishment is vice and sin packaged for your entertainment. And the people who partake in

To be honest, this was actually kind of funny in context. “People will do anything on crowdfunding sites” followed up with the most offensive thing you could probably imagine without physically harming someone.

.... That’s actually funny. The actual sign is not.

Then again I make fun of my own heritage by saying that

I HATE THIS WORLD. AND YOU OVERREACTIONARY AND MISGUIDED BROODS OF PC POLICE WHO FEEL IT NECESSARY TO DISPLAY YOUR VIRTUE OF EMPATHY TOWARDS OTHER RACES. AND THE WAY YOU DO IT IS SO CUTE, TOO. IT’S AS IF YOU ACTUALLY BELIEVE THAT WE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD INTO A TOLERANT EQUAL PLACE JUST BY MAKING SURE PEOPLE DON’T

I found it funny in a satirical way. Get off that high horse.

Looks like he's standing next to a cardboard cutout.
