You actually hit one of the major problems: Patents. The 90 year patents are choking competition, which is the biggest reason why these price increases keep happening.

You’re not wrong; there’s already the problem of not having many jobs left for people without college educations, and that problem is going to get worse as service jobs and unskilled labor continue to get automated.
