Agreed.  Baseball has always been about series, not on-game eliminations.  I’d be “ok” with a three-game playoff for that reason, but a teams playoff life shouldn’t be largely determined by who has the better starter; that goes against everything baseball is.

TBF, the Marlins couldn’t afford Stanton. Due to payroll considerations, Jeter knows he has to build the team from the ground up. By the time that occurred, Stanton would be well past his prime. Ditching him makes sense in that perspective.

I’m a Yankee fan and even I’ll admit Kay is a PoS.  I think most Yankees fans feel the same.

Na, we should just rename “Watergate” to “Watergate-gate” to match the common verbiage.

My first memory was eating glue in pre-school.

Surprised he wasn’t shot to be honest.

The NFLPA should put it’s foot down during the next labor relations and demand the franchise tag end.

Now playing

At ~23:00 it’s explained how to determine the exact frame the speedrun ends at, based on random (but understood) elements like how many hammers Bowser throws.

Not just bikers; was driving through a parking lot the other day. Was following another car toward the exit (no one behind me by the way) and a pedestrian just decides “I’m crossing now” and walks right in front of me.  I was more then a little ticked, and she didn’t give a damn because “I have right of way”.

Which in turn also ignores that those same benefits are being cut back; only around 60% of companies offer medical coverage now, and a lot of them just default to the lowest cost plan to save them money.

I could see people thinking it would be put under the healthcare budget. In any case, that kinda highlights how shitty healthcare is in our country, that we have to spend bundles of money on veterans because they can’t afford basic services.

Because nothing says “ye olden times” like “Blockbuster Video”.

Cost.  Simple as that.

The problem is the Port Authority, which is jointly controlled by NY and NJ, stalled the entire project. The NY bureaucracy is never to be underestimated.

There’s certainty still bad parts of NYC; you probably shouldn’t wander around Harlem, but for the most part the city is much improved from where it was in the 80's.

Neutral: I live in suburbia (Long Island), and work is a good 35-40 miles away. So a 100 mile range is too short when you consider things such as heating the car in the winter (which itself eats up a lot of electric power, and therefore range). I also occasionally have to drive up to Clifton New Jersey, which is ~95

In the old EU, they essentially did just that.
