It is valid, SEGA of Japan's Sonic Team didn't share any of their engine they use for their Sonic games so Boom was made with the Cryengine. really the only thing those 2 games share is Sonic, otherwise nothing about them is in common.

SATAM was grimdark, AOSTH was looney tunes, Underground was grimdark with cheese, and Sonic X was anime.

SSG may be a hard form to attain but it has to be factored seeing as superman was given the same treatment.
