3.7 / 10 user rating and 50 / 100 on Metacritic is all I need to see. These numbers are only going DOWN. No amount of fanboyism can pretty it up.

@Jennacide: I've pretty much moved on. Like I said, I'll follow the game's news articles for the PS3 release, but I pretty much already consider FFXIV to be a smoldering dead mess, as do most other people.

@humperdinck: It was...interesting. The story was sleep-inducing. The battle system was okay, but you didn't have to do anything. Gambits. Definitely not the worst, but definitely not the best.

@Faiye Munro: It's just so dated graphically. And even though it's a fun game, the performance is terrible.

@WarlordPayne: I mean, it IS true that the nature of the game means that you practically never need more than one character.

@Angry Robot: It's $3 for every character. With a $9.99 "monthly access" fee. It's laughable. Plus $80 for the damn Collector's Edition?

@Xenoveritas: I agree completely. It's more like "(The Devs) Ask the (Other) Devs". It's just all fake, and only the blind fanboys — the worst of whom will probably be trolling this article eventually — will bow down and worship FFXIV. The rest of us are just like, "WTF? Really?"
