@Vaddix: Well, I guess I just happened to fall in love with FFVII like a lot of their fans did, and I think that's fine. But I get your point. For me, I'd say that FFX was the last of their games that had any of the "FF magic" that I was attracted to.

@The Forgetful Brain: Right. Well that falls into the category of "terrible performance." The game is SO inefficient and poorly optimized (JUST like FFXI was) that you have to have the absolute best gaming PC to run it decently.

@chickdigger802: Nope. You have to go through the process of hacking Windows so you can use your favorite game-console controller.

@PillBinge: I guess it just comes down to this: Are you okay with a company dumping a steaming pile of shit on your door and promising to fix it in 3 months? 6 months? 1 year?

@Jeffery Taylor: Actually, even as one who hates this putrid mess of a game, I agree. I think that the actual review didn't focus nearly enough on how the game plays.

@ShiryuGN: I'm pretty vigilante when I need to spread the truth. :)

@Vaddix: Same. I remember when I looked at Final Fantasy VII with awe. And then I finally got it, and it was INFINITELY more fun than it looked!

@buddhatooda: Exactly. I mean, if the UI is just going to lie/make things up, what do I trust?

@rainofwalrus: Yup. And I can make this comment about as objectively as anyone, because I HATE the WoW lore, graphics, humor, music, etc (so there's not a trace of fanboy in me):

@trainzebra: Yeah that's part of the paradox. This is SQUARE ENIX we're talking about. Years ago, I expected only the best from them. Recently, however, I've grown to anticipate only the worst, which is sad.

@Xarddrax: No, no changes. Still a pain. You basically have to master every single craft in the entire game or you a) have to spend TONS of money to have the NPC repair your shit up to 75% or b) find someone who will repair your stuff for you.

@Paradox me: They won't straighten anything out. SE puts all their efforts into slowly numbing their users' expectations so that, after a year or so, they come to accept the horrific nature of their games.

@William Yarbrough: "I spent 80 damn dollars on this piece of chocobo excrement. SE has lost their magic. It has slowly been fading but I can now say that the light has extinguished."

@FlawedHero: If a game is so bad that it makes you want to quit a mere hour in, I'd say that's more than enough time spent on it.

Terrible UI + terrible performance + terrible economy + terrible bugs + terrible release date + no content + awesome graphics + awesome music = Terrible game.

@icarus212001: Agreed. Developers are so damn lazy these days.

@Aklost: Will you be my friend?! D:

@iiqulo: Well I definitely fall in the "FFVII was the greatest game in the series" camp, but FFVI was an AMAZING game.

@bleekeh: Ha ha. I dunno man. I only played WoW for a couple of months, but I had more fun in a single instance run than my 2 weeks of FFXIV. If WoW wasn't already so meticulously dissected, calculated. There's nothing new. Every byte of gameplay is catalogued online somewhere. :)

@T Spoon: You nailed it, bud. :) I had pretty much the same experience. It's just fun to explore; to attack that cool-looking enemy you KNOW you can't even scratch; to freak out when a huge, floating octopus suddenly appears on that small ship in the middle of a storm, to die laughing when your dead body is just
