As a game developer it sometimes irks me to know streamers make more money than most devs, but then I can understand the amount of work that goes into maintaining a streamer personality, to be “up” all the time and sustain an energy level that could be grueling over the long haul. I’d be curious to know, from a

I was one of the texture artists on JK (was on Dark Forces too) and I have to say I'm happy to see it and DF continuing to have a life. Nice to see my DPaint textures getting a resolution upgrade.

Wow, they make my textures look so pretty.

Was going to recommend the same novel. Guns of the South is pretty much exactly what you’re asking for.

Nice article Jason. Never has a game intentionally kicked my ass and made it as fun as this fight was. Naturally, I shouldn’t have read the comments as it’s the typical screed of ignorance that typifies any counter argument to diversity or inclusion in a space that’s largely been dominated by white men - and as a

Thanks, Luke, for this article. I’ve been a game developer since 1993 and have always had a strong negative reaction towards piracy - always felt as though it was stealing from the pockets of me and my colleagues.

Why don't you try living up to your namesake and show a little compassion.

It might be hard to come by these days, but the OVA Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still. Seven episodes long, it has one of the best story arcs I've seen and has one of the best twist endings. It combines retro character design with tight animation and some of my favorite overall character concepts.

I may have not hear of them before, but I have now. I know it won't replace the many who will remain unaware of their title after having not seen it at PAX, but it's something.

Dude, cozy up with the indie game community. You've got music composition, mixing, and dubbing experience; get back to doing music for games, even if it doesn't pay well or at all at the start. Build up a resume of game soundtracks and then start looking for audio jobs. In every company I worked at, the audio/music

Couldn't have happened to a nicer douchebag scumfuck asshole misogynist. I wonder how many cig's his ass'll be worth.

EA, I dub thee Claudius.

I was. Unfortunately EA shut us down six months before we were due to launch our Mass Effect mobile game. I'm currently working at a small mobile developer in San Francisco.

A good cautionary tale vis a' vis my personal motto: "Don't be a dick shall be the whole of the Law."

Seriously though, the guy's a creative director, which to the public would place him pretty high in the Microsoft dev hierarchy: people will give his words weight or feel they are representative of the culture at

That's a completely baseless accusation and I...oh, wait, we're talking the game industry here, so you aren't that far off the mark. But surprises do happen.

I worked at LucasArts in the years leading up to the release of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed before being unceremoniously laid off once that game finished production. But before SW:TFU was green-lit, one of the games that we all wanted to do was an open-world bounty hunter game. It was the game everyone wanted to do

Can't play Skyrim on it, ergo: not best gaming machine out there.

Here's my dream Assassin's Creed Setting: India during the British Raj.
