Agreed! But realistically it probably won't be until at least 2018-19 if we follow current trends (2005 Red / Green - 2010 Gold / Silver - 2014 Ruby / Sapphire).
Honestly, this is something DLC would be great for. Since remakes reuse current gen assets and engines anyway, just release Kanto as a DLC expansion.

Valve isn't forcing you to buy the game so it is 100% your choice to gamble on a game or not. Valve doesn't have to take responsibility for a shitty game nor should they. Valve offering refunds for Earth: 2066 is them just being nice when they were in no way obligated to.
