Except the concept behind the loot box has been legally sold to children for DECADES. The crank machine at the grocery store meets the requirement for a loot box. You insert money and you get something from it, usually not the thing you want. You can pump as much money as you want into them.

Well, this is exactly what responsible game devs have been telling the F2P and then lootbox scum for a decade: If you don’t regulate yourself, someone who doesn’t know anything about it is going to step in and regulate it for you badly.

It’s a bit overreaching, but I wouldn’t miss any of these things. I’d still personally only ban things that have RNG rewards. I don’t even care that much about pay to win mechanics if you know exactly what you are buying.
