The Nymeria reunion can't work in the (alleged) books the way it did in the show — there's been too much buildup. Book Arya has been warging into Nymeria regularly all this time — they're far too connected. The show hasn't had the budget for the CGI to make that happen, so they wrote out much of the wolf stuff in
