Rape is rape. There is no good rape and bad rape. It is all bad. Rape is not a tool of reformation or an instrument of revenge. We are not Tate.

Nah, I’m fine with terrible and unfair things happening to terrible people. They can both get fucked and rot.

Why do you think the Tate’s chose to base in Romania in the first place? It was to do the shitty/illegal/despicable things they did to those women, thinking their fame and money would shield them from it. Well, it didn’t. Live by the corruption, die by the corruption.

Yah, I play games to escape the mundane bullshit I already know. The more unfamiliar the better. I seek out stories about people nothing like me.

Hell, im a white, hetero male, i barely want things aimed at me as is.  There is more than enough, show me something different.  I want diversity in creators so I get diversity in content.  I like variety.

I dont mean to make this overtly political, but over the past 40 years, one political party in particular has been using social wedge issues to win elections.  That includes telling a portion of the country they should never have to feel even remotely sorry about anything, no matter how awful the behavior is.  That

Look, im pretty fucking liberal, but neither shareholder or management are trying to make people angry.  They are doing it, but that isnt anyone’s intention.  Calm the fuck down.

Management and shareholders are not game developers. So again, please try to separate development teams from studio and publisher management with your ire.

I actually think there is a difference.  We’ve normalized harassment and death threats over trivial issues, and people have access to a culture that eggs them on.  Without comment boards and the pursuit of likes, a lot of these people would still be decent.

I love these discussions, because in my 30th year in the game industry (i used to draw sprites for SNES games), I truly despise armchair developers who say stupid shit like “I can’t believe QA let this through” as if QA has final say on when a game ships. I’ve had to veto a QA recommendation to hold back a release

It’s been *so weird* seeing this behavior from people and I don’t know what happened. Good games/shows/movies/books/plays/art got made in the past, and bad games/shows/movies/books/plays/art got made in the past. And you know what we did? We enjoyed it, or we didn’t and then we just went on with our lives.  That was

Boy, you really couldn’t wait to just stand up and out yourself as part of the problem, could you.

I’m white, male, heterosexual.

Not everything in society needs to be aimed at me, just because 20 years ago it was, the fact that it isn’t anymore really shouldn’t matter. I’m still vastly disproportionately represented.

If a game doesn’t have its main character that is the same as me.. so what? If a game doesn’t

Are you a child? As someone who spends all their time creating shit (as well as critiquing the creative works of others), the idea that someone who has never and will never create anything that gets put out in front of people to be judged feels entitled to talk shit to people who do is ridiculous.

Yeah, gamer bros like you should go fuck off.

He’s not wrong, but I feel as though the issue isn’t that the loudest assholes forget that these are people, it’s that they’re assholes and they just don’t care.

Our economy is dependent on the myth of unlimited growth.

Another week, another comment from Beefsquatch reminding saying bring back the guillotine. Late stage capitalism is the enemy and shareholders are the cancer

100%. I work for a fortune 500, and it is the same cycle every time. Our economy is dependent on the myth of unlimited growth. When you lay off all of these people, it frees up reporting cash for shareholders to see. Which means when they actually do have growth, they will need to re-hire anyways and have massive
