I think part of it is that this is the first song of hers really since Marry Me that wasn't produced by John Congleton. I think he tends to forefront her more abrasive sounds.
It's really great. It's the most I've enjoyed a pop album since Carly Rae Jepsen's E*MO*TION.
Everything about Future is forgettable to me. There's nothing in his songs to latch on to.

This isn't even the first time the Public's Shakespeare in the Park has parodied Trump. Last years Taming of the Shrew had a lot of references to Trump in it, including an announcer on the PA that was doing an impression of Trump talking about pageant contestants.
That's fair. I'll give you that. But wanting to figure out who's ruling the universe is a decent enough motivation anyways, and a heck of a lot more than anyone else in the story gets.
See, I've always found him to be probably the most compelling character in the series. He's the only one with an actual goal, and also has an interesting internal conflict where he's dealing with the fact that he lobotomized himself out of caring about something that clearly used to be important to him but now has…
In the books, he's trying to figure out who's running the universe. That's his motivation in both the first two books and the radio series.
They reduced the character into a "Dumb George Bush" riff, which is the most boring thing you could do. Especially since you could make a decent argument that, while Arthur Dent is obviously the viewpoint character, Zaphod is actually the protagonist of the story because he's the one driving most of the action in the…
I'll never forgive the movie for finding the perfect person to play Zaphod Beeblebrox in Sam Rockwell and then having him play a character that's almost, but not quite, entirely unlike Zaphod Beeblebrox.

The line between an amazing rap lyric and an absolutely godawful one is perilously thin.
I feel like you could make an argument for "Knock Knock" and "Oxygen" both having the same problem, too.
Yeah, there was definitely a lot more room to play with the concept, especially exploring what the suits can/can't do, how this pay-per-breath system actually works, etc.
Mathieson's the best Who writer I've seen in a while at balancing the heady conceptual stuff with the personal character stuff. That balance is crucial for Who.
I mean, if Broadchurch is any indication, then no, because, god, is that show a mess on a season level.
