Love this bit: “While not explicitly related to J.K. Rowling’s rampant transphobia, The Fabelmans director is the latest Hollywood figure to publicly distance himself from Harry Potter and the Wizarding World.”

This is some rancid clickbait even for you, AVC.
In 2020 he BOLDLY TWEETED
Yeah, for all the complaints about this movie being “just Ferngully in Space” and the like, what exactly is the problem with more Ferngully? I’m not even opposed to the glut of superhero content these days, but if we have upwards of ten superhero movies and TV shows a year, why not a few more unabashed environmental…
It ends instead as a mostly cerebral exercise that leaves you wanting to read Kristen Roupenian’s original story.
Maverick is a good flick, but Oscar worthy? Come on.
Wasn’t FF6 the one with the 80mph chase down a runway that lasted 30 minutes?
The criticisms are not addressed because the reasons for the criticisms are not addressed. Let’s be very honest here: women are offended by the fact that men date younger women because it makes them feel like there is an expiration date on their value as a partner. That is a very real, very HUMAN emotion. I would love…
I wouldn’t want a relationship like that but that’s me. But lots of people (mostly men but Madonna and Cher are examples of women who engage in similar relationships, so it’s not just men, though women of course get way more shit for it) want exactly that. They don’t want to be with someone who is their equal in age…
Doc Strange 2 wound up at $950 million, ninth biggest opening weekend of all time, around $300 million improvement on Doc 1, all without a release in China, which would’ve pushed it into billion dollar territory. Quality gap aside, there’s no possible way to read that as a case of diminishing returns.
I applaud your bravery/condemn your bandwagoning, depending on whatever the contrarian position is.
Well I for one am totally outraged by/fine with this, depending on what everyone else in the comments section thinks. And I stand by that.
No-one is willing to dunk on Bowie for all his teenager-fucking.
Just tell people it only has the one season. That ending works.
Glad the shitty snyderverse is dead for that in particular. Also in BvS Martha says Superman/Clark doesn’t owe anyone anything which is wrong on so many levels I don’t even.
Smallville was largely cheeseball corn, but it got a few things very right and one of them was Jonathan Kent.
i genuinely think 3 is underrated.
Same, and I agree that if it had actually been the first followup to T2 it would have been much-better received. I have multiple friends who had no interest whatsoever until I finally saw it and mentioned to them that it was really good, and then after they watched they absolutely agreed.
It’s weird, feels like it was just last month.
They also left out Carnivale. I loved True Blood but it’s a bad show! Which is part of what makes it enjoyable.
