Same, and I agree that if it had actually been the first followup to T2 it would have been much-better received. I have multiple friends who had no interest whatsoever until I finally saw it and mentioned to them that it was really good, and then after they watched they absolutely agreed.

It sounds like she thought she had more clout than she did. I lol’d at the petty passive aggressive move of sending her boss a Wikipedia link for character arcs. That’s some god tier narcissism.

I mean no offense to Patty here, but if WW84 was any indication of the direction you wanted to take things, well... I have to say that, for once, I’m siding with the WB brass on this one.

The True part : the script that Jenkins & John for Wonder Woman 3 was rejected.

This is my fault, guys. I wished for Wonder Woman 3 on the magic wishing stone and the wish is going wrong in annoying ways.

Nicole Kidman didn’t spend an entire half day filming those obnoxious “aren’t movies great?” ads they play when you’re already at the fucking movies just so people could watch things on streaming!

In terms of emotional tone, yes, it’s much less grimdark. In terms of literal color pallettes, it’s almost exactly as hideous and desaturated as the Zach Snyder murderverse.

Yeah, it seems like the author decided that the quality of Wonder Woman 1984 did not fit in with the narrative of a great franchise badly mistreated, so he just left it unmentioned. It’s telling that this decision was made after Jenkins’ pitch, since even the basic concept of Wonder Woman 1984 was a huge mess. Not…

Not especially.  It was about as good as a mid tier Marvel movie, the third act was pretty trash.

Everything doesn’t have to be a trilogy.

In addition to the pandemic release scheduling disaster of Wonder Woman 2, it also sucked.
