But is watching the second one necessary preparation?

So what I get from these reviews is if you haven't seen Rebels, you may have a basic understanding of the narrative, but you'll have very little investment in two major characters you haven't yet seen, and haven't heard many specifics about at all.
Maybe, but TV shows are traditionally free, with ads. The whole appeal of prestige streaming TV is you get better production quality in exchange for direct payment to the producer of your choice (instead of your cable subscription going to a large assortment of channels you mostly don’t even want).
Er, sure? I don’t remember that part of the first one, and don’t plan on revisiting any of them besides DMC anytime in the next few decades.
Er, would you really want to invest your own money in another Birds of Prey? (But I dislike the Harley character and especially her voice, nothing against Robbie.)
And two of those six being pandemic years, at that.
Agreed on the mess part overall, but even by nonsense fantasy metrics, there’s a clear difference between “cursed, pleasure-free ghost life” and drinking from the Fountain of Youth.
“the total grosses of all films released this summer stands at $3.8 billion... While that’s a strong improvement over last year’s $3.1 billion, it’s still well below 2019’s pre-pandemic total of $4.3 billion.”
I'd take a Pepper movie over more Carol Danvers any day...
He was certainly evil in the Thrawn Trilogy, fighting the New Republic and trying to deliver Leia/Han’s twins to an insane Dark Jedi. All the stuff about him being on a somewhat noble secret mission came later, and I for one don’t like it one bit, Zahn or not.
As someone who bailed in S2, following Betty’s execrable Serpent Dance in a bar full of adults, I maintained at least some respect for the show, albeit at a long distance, for its consistently escalating insanity.
I wouldn’t mind a recast if necessary; I’m just asking for some consistency in his role in this time period. Either Ahsoka’s in regular contact with him, or she isn’t. Since we’ve seen that she is, why wouldn’t she at least give him a call before going off on a matter of potential grave importance? And if she did give…
Oops, okay, point taken, then. (Though why the First Order didn’t deploy any fighters during said opening battle to both fight and launch tracking beacons is another matter.)
I don’t understand. You’re suggesting an announced Star Wars project may not come to fruition? That doesn’t make any sense.
“a beacon attached to a ship can send a ping out about that ship after it comes back out of hyperspace, which wasn’t useful in The Last Jedi because the First Order couldn’t get close enough to attach one to any of the rebel ships.”
If a “C” grade means “average,” a C- means slightly below average. If the interpersonal drama is as inert as Barsanti says, that hardly sounds like a harsh grade to me.
So, the baddies have three Force users, and the goodies have two, one of which definitely isn’t a full Jedi. Dare I ask if they even discuss reaching out to that other Jedi wandering around? The one that dominated an episode of the Boba Fett series for some reason? Let alone his sister, who is also maybe doing her…
I said Old Town Road has something to say about the culture. It says the culture loves terrible songs about bling.
It may be a cleverly terrible song, but that doesn’t make it a not terrible song.
Assuming she’s still alive when Kylo Ren brings down the Jedi order for the second time in her lifetime (and I very much do assume that, and that she and Grogu will be alive to appear in the upcoming Rey movie), I would think that watching that, and knowing she failed to prevent it, would be her darkest hour.
