Yeah, as much as a book purist as I am, I wouldn’t mind if they’d changed the word to “killer.” Same effect, and more accurate.

Preach! Also: if your excuse to crowbar Will into S1 of your HDM show is that, due to minor labor laws, you can only shoot so many hours with your lead actress per day... how about a longer shooting schedule, and not kneecap the story?!
Perhaps I was unclear, but I meant I didn’t watch past the first ep of S1! Any Lyra at the start of her journey saying she “doesn’t like secrets” = automatic fail. :P
They remade the sequence where Leia senses Luke’s life force on Bespin with Finn sensing Rey’s life force. It’s not ambiguous at all.
we lose the subtlety of the wonderful character moment where Lyra asks it immediately who Will is, and the “he’s a murderer” answer relaxes and comforts her
Ah, my favorite hate-reading feature returns! (That’s loathing for the butchering of my favorite books, not these reviews themselves.)
Hopefully Caple can bring some new ideas to the franchise that Bay never considered, like maybe watching a single episode of the Transformers cartoon, looking at a Transformers toy,
And the winner for “Gizmodo’s Most Trumpy Headline of the Day” goes to...
Barsanti’s incompetence truly knows no bounds. A franchise that has released four DTV pre/sequels in the past 20 years, including one in 2018, has “been left untouched for nearly 20 years”? If only some pop culture website had made a ranked list of all but the most recent release in a feature called “Run the…
I imagine the WAP video alone delivered several hundred thousand old folk’s votes to Cheeto...
Well, thanks to that header image, I may never be hungry again...
It’s okay. He’s still the primary star of the Dirk Pitt franchise.
What the fuck happened?
It’s none of your business, but, better than many, thanks.
Hey, AV Club: if you’re going to put trigger/sensitivity warnings all over articles with disturbing contents (which, okay), how about not prominently splashing this article’s particular header image of that rapist all over your site? Thanks.
Hence my diabolical ambition to remake one of cinema’s greatest premises let down by shaky executions: Weird Science!
Erm... no disrespect to Ms. C., who I’m sure did the best she could, and almost certainly better than I would have done, but, as I recall, she bounced from powerful Roman boyfriend to powerful Roman boyfriend, then threw in the towel when she couldn’t seduce the last Roman to come calling. So... female empowerment?
Perhaps so. There’s certainly no shortage of WWII POW films in either theater, not to mention Hogan’s Heroes. But, while there have certainly been naval WW2 movies, I’m not aware of any such dramatic series/minieries.
Given that it’s Apple+, and that aerial warfare, while certainly deadly, is probably less gruesome than land warfare (in that killed bodies tend to be destroyed in crashes rather than linger about), I’d say the odds of it being as graphic as The Pacific are about zero. It might be comparable to Band of Brothers...
As a Navy veteran myself, I hope Hanks doesn’t consider Greyhound a substitute for a full-on WWII Navy series a la BoB/The Pacific/Masters of the Air. Greyhound was decent enough as a montage of several scenes of naval warfare, I guess, but it was barely a movie in its own right, let alone a season’s worth of…
