I disliked this film when I saw it on Saturday. Now, with some time to reflect, I’m really hating it. Who was Snoke? Fuck you, it doesn’t matter. Who’re Rey’s parents? Screw off, it’s irrelevant. Here’s some wacky hijinks at an interstellar casino, suck it up and enjoy that, you dipshit Star Wars fan.

Yeah, you should hate yourself to be that person. Enough of shoving in your copy pasted opinion already!

I like Kill-la Kill for.. uhh. the....*shifts eyes*... deconstruction of the genre...

Are you copy pasting your response to multiple people?

Well there is also the fact Battle Angel Alita takes place in the US despite being a Japanese Manga.

Robots don’t have ethnicity. You can’t “whitewash” a machine.

Her looking so ‘different’ than the humans around her is acceptable to me if she is indeed NOT human at all. As a made made construct....she has license to be a bit off kilter.

Oh... been there.

Careful, that thought process is the first step down the long dark and cutely disturbing world of anime.

This seems like one of those movies that I’m gonna watch and probably even like... and then never admit to liking or watching.

Eh, the humans look human though. And once Alita’s in motion, her battle movements should look unhuman. The textures of Alita’s face skin do look cut-sceney, but the rest of the actual people look photographed.

...and there is a huge audience of people who were raised on cutscenes from games...so perhaps it’s not a dumb choice?

It feels like Alita’s eyes are a weird design affectation by that particular model’s manufacturer (maybe bigger eyes for bigger nightvision lenses?). At least the humans look human in comparison.

I’m willing to try it. Forcing the character right into the uncanny valley, is an interesting narrative choice. It makes the struggle the other character face trying to see her as human more believable.

Konami never thought Metal Gear 5 would be bad, they were just pissed at the amount of time and money Kojima was spending on its production (and to be clear, I think he had earned the right to do whatever the hell he wanted)

Then Season 10 was amazing.

Yeah, the Capaldi era was really quite good. To be honest, even the Clara stuff is largely good...just not good enough to overcome the negativity generated by her badly botched introduction.

I actually enjoyed a majority of his run. Season 8 had less episodes that I liked, but the ones I did like were amazing. Clara bogged that season down.

Season 9 started off slow. The first two parter I wasn’t a fan of. The ending of that was just The Doctor and Davros talking. But that season started to pick up.

Unlike the Eleventh-to-Twelfth regeneration, this looks rather explosive—the TARDIS aflame

Kind of interesting how he mentions growth of Joi’s character. While I did see her evolve through the movie, the point where K interacts with the giant holographic advertisement made me question whether any of it was real
