I agree with that. It definitely works as a breadcrumb in hindsight, but for that to be the “moral event horizon” moment doesn’t make a ton of sense.

Lets consider the more egregious part they didn’t understand. Basic storytelling.

There was a period where I would just watch Halo trailers over and over again. They had this stranglehold on pathos that just made them all so gripping. This is certainly the peak, though.
