That may be true, but the TV show seems to make a big effort at explaining the importance of the suit. And then they inconsistently show Barry running at super speed in his street clothes with no adverse effect.

How likely is it that THIS WW is taking cues from the Future World movie? In that, there was a faction within Delos that would lure world and corporate leaders to the park, kidnap them, and send a “host” out in their place.
Something about that doesn’t seem right.

Seems HIGHLY unlikely Ford ordered Bernard to kill Elise. Remember, she discovered an old broadcasting center. That would not have been Ford’s. It was either Arnold’s or related to the board’s espionage.
“More smarter”! LOL!
—>”There was a new host being built in that secret lab. Who is it?”
—>”Ford’s secret lab under the house in the park appears to be where Bernard and Dolores were having their conversations. I don’t know what that means other than Bernard was used to help Ford program what he wants into the old hosts. “
That’s another good point — seems odd for the techs to not know about the indian dolls that look like the techs. But, also hard to believe they’d allow the hosts to have them — I mean, the point is immersion and if the guests saw the dolls, that would pull them out of immersion.
My theory about Arnold is that he didn’t really kill himself. He somehow transferred his conscious/personality/memories into one or more of the hosts — or maybe into the central computer system that makes WW run.
I don’t buy the Billy is Man in Black theory.
Again, I point to the inconsistencies in the show. We’ve SEEN the kind of monitoring they have. It’s comprehensive. But they don’t apply it consistently.
Star Trek used to do that, too. They’d pull out some new tech just in time to save the day and then never use that tech again in future episodes, even though it would…
That was rather pompous of you.
That’s a very good point. You’ve also reminded me that most hosts are not trusted with anything sharp. Remember the dudes around the fire? No one could chop wood because their programming didn’t allow them to handle an ax.
Hah!
I’ll stop arguing this with you. But first, I’m not talking about PEOPLE screwing up or being apathetic.
I would think a host engaging in self-destructive behavior counts as going bad in a big way.
I accept not having the big picture, but the writers are responsible for giving the viewers a sense of the world and they’re failing at this point if the big picture fixes my complaints.
I consider an effort to get someone to stab her and then to stab herself would be significant reason to raise warning alarms.
Just because lazy writing is prevalent doesn’t mean I should just accept it. And, I’m okay with tech failing, but not with technicians not being aware of it or worried about it.
