Secretly, I was hoping for an ending set during the 1970 Christmas season. A zombie version of Lane Pryce, rotting flesh and all, enters McCann and before hacking all of the major characters to death with a rusty ax, wishes each one of them a Happy Christmas.
He was most likely the poor fellow that was hazed 24/7. Hell, even the fraternity house custodian hazed him. That's why he was the way he was for the first 6 1/2 seasons.
The season concludes with Nelson Rockefeller somehow getting custody of the Draper kids.

I believe that the seed for the Coke ad started earlier, back with the motel owner's attachment to his old Coke machine in Oklahoma. Coke transcends brand loyalty, we all have an an attachment to the product that can be considered intimate.
