The carbon footprint is still getting bigger everytime you drive. Especially with an 8mpg vehicle.

It wasnt quick in 96 and nowadays its even worse comparatively. Nobody with a regular car has problems getting to highway speeds in time. In 96 getting 8mpg was bad, today its horrific.

I had a vehicle from my birth year. A 1981 Honda Prelude. It was...very unremarkable.

I worked at a used car dealership. We sold tons of these (even when gas prices were super high) and had one with the big engine on the lot for our use, picking up parts and stuff. I have driven them many times. They are 0-60 in approx 10 seconds, if you floor it. And you have to, because otherwise you wont be keeping…

Its not a vehicle to have a great time with. Its not interesting or fun to drive, isn’t an offroader or track car. Its a vehicle for transportation. It does that just ok, but as inefficiently and wastefully as possible.

Taxi drivers do those things too. This is not a unique problem to uber at all. The difference is that uber/lyft are 2 companies, so its really easy to point fingers at them, where as the taxi companies are thousands of different tiny companies.

There is less accountability from taxis. And the regulations are not ones that focus on your safety.

Hotel and taxi prices have stayed almost exactly the same since uber and airbnbb started. They have not gone up in any significant way.
